Sunflowers actively track solar radiation across the sky

Imagine being so incredibly needy for sunlight that you physically twist your entire body to stare at it all day. Sunflowers exhibit heliotropism, a fancy botanical term for acting like a paranoid security camera tracking a target. One side of the stem grows faster than the other, creating a mechanical bend that forces the flower face to follow the sun's exact path until dusk.
