Eighty Four’s name has no settled origin
The Pennsylvania community of Eighty Four is unusual even by the standards of place names: its name is simply a number, written out as words. The reason that particular number stuck, however, remains unclear. There is no confirmed explanation to turn into a neat origin story.
An unanswered question becomes local character
