While everyone casually obsesses over finding rare gold or diamonds, they are literally standing on absurd mountains of silicon. It aggressively dominates the crust, bound up tightly in almost every single rock and grain of sand you ever touch. It is basically the default filler material the planet used when constructing the continents.
