HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
Reserving an entire premium lane for carpoolers seems wonderfully efficient until you look at the reality of the grid. Because there are rarely enough fully packed vehicles to utilize the capacity, that lane sits entirely empty while the remaining lanes are crushed with an unbearable bottleneck. It is a beautiful ideal that functionally just deletes a quarter of the usable road.
