HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
Your breakfast is held hostage by two pieces of metal that fundamentally hate each other. A bimetallic strip consists of two different alloys sandwiched together that expand at entirely different rates when heated. As it gets hot, the resulting argument forces the strip to bend into a curve, eventually tripping a mechanical latch that angrily launches your bread into the air.
