Triton orbits Neptune the wrong way

Triton is the only large moon in the solar system with a retrograde orbit, strongly indicating it was not formed alongside Neptune but was violently captured by its gravity. As a reward for its rebellion, the orbital decay ensures it will eventually be torn completely to shreds by tidal forces.
