Why pumice stones are born in volcanoes
That rough little gray block sitting on the edge of your tub has a remarkably violent origin story. Pumice is created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock is violently ejected from a volcano, cooling so rapidly that it traps tiny gas bubbles inside. We took this intense geological phenomenon and decided its best possible use was scraping tough calluses off our feet.
