Charles showed ordinary gases expand when completely heated

Jacques Charles filled numerous balloons with different atmospheric samples and uniformly heated them up in a controlled bath. He noticed every single sample expanded by the exact same geometric ratio when subjected to heat. He essentially proved that all gaseous matter behaves identically when aggressively warmed, establishing basic thermodynamic predictability.
