As if hitting a giant rogue ice cube wasn't embarrassing enough, the supposedly unsinkable ship was already dealing with an internal inferno. A three-story-high pile of coal had been actively burning in boiler room six since before they even left port, severely weakening the exact section of the steel hull that the iceberg eventually decided to scrape.
