A closer look

Because invisible fluid dynamics are too boring, we decided to fill water with glitter to see how it moves. Rheoscopic fluids contain microscopic, reflective crystalline platelets suspended in a liquid. When the liquid moves, these elongated particles instantly align with the direction of the flow, reflecting light and rendering invisible turbulence, vortices, and currents highly visible. It is essentially giving fluid motion a high-contrast dye job.
