Kawasaki brought the Jet Ski to the mainstream in the 1970s, turning peaceful lakes into obnoxiously loud racetracks. The original concept was literally just 'what if we made a snowmobile, but wet?' They created a stand-up watercraft that demanded insane balance, meaning 90% of early jet skiing consisted of falling into the water and swimming back to your idle craft.
