Composers once wrote music with dice

Who needs actual musical inspiration when you have a decent pair of dice? Composers created literal musical games where performers would roll dice to randomly select pre-written measures of music, stitching them together to form a unique waltz. It was essentially algorithmic classical music centuries before computers existed.
