Anyone who fell asleep watching a physical disc remembers the sheer psychological torture of waking up to a repetitive fifteen-second musical loop. Designers intentionally programmed the menus to aggressively loop the loudest, most dramatic snippet of the soundtrack infinitely to prevent the player from timing out. It effectively became a highly efficient method of sleep deprivation.
