Wearing a dark shirt on a sunny day is essentially volunteering to act as a thermal sponge. Pigments that we perceive as entirely dark exist solely because their chemical structure violently absorbs every single color in the visible spectrum. Since that absorbed electromagnetic energy has to go somewhere, it immediately converts into pure thermal heat against your skin.
