Wombats are completely immune to the venom of the deadly funnel-web spider, though scientists still do not fully understand the biological mechanism behind it; while a single bite from this spider can easily kill a grown human in under an hour, a wombat simply shrugs it off as if it were a mild inconvenience, adding venom resistance to their arsenal alongside their armor-plated rumps and cube-shaped feces, making them quite possibly the strangest, most bizarrely optimized survival machines on the planet
