HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Instead of normal surface rivers, this region of Mexico features a massive interconnected network of flooded limestone sinkholes known as cenotes. When the soft bedrock caved in, it revealed crystal-clear subterranean pools deep in the jungle. It is basically an incredibly treacherous natural plumbing system that manages to look stunningly beautiful.
