Scientists once put Iguanodon’s thumb spike on its nose

Early paleontology was essentially just a highly unscientific guessing game. When scientists first dug up the bizarre, conical thumb spikes of the Iguanodon, they completely panicked and glued them straight onto the creature's nose, creating a goofy reptilian unicorn for several decades.
