Being a ginger has historically always been rough, but the Greeks took the prejudice to supernatural extremes. They genuinely thought the lack of melanin and fiery hair was a solid indicator that you were cursed to rise from the grave as a blood-sucking monster. Upon death, redheads were frequently burned or aggressively dismembered just to ensure they wouldn't sneak back into the village for a midnight snack.
