Giant sloths dug cave systems beneath South America

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Modern sloths are practically catatonic moss-covered speed bumps, but their ancestors were absolute terraforming nightmares. Extinct ground sloths the size of cars possessed claws so massive they essentially acted as biological excavators. They carved massive, complex cave systems throughout South America just to have somewhere cozy to sleep, completely humiliating modern heavy machinery in the process.
