A closer look

Jupiter is so massive that it does not actually orbit the sun in a traditional sense, rather, the sun and Jupiter both orbit a shared center of mass located just outside the surface of our star. The gas giant is so incredibly dense and huge that it pulls the center of gravity away, acting less like a regular planet and more like an annoying roommate trying to claim half the apartment. Every other planet respectfully circles the sun, but Jupiter throws its weight around to force a compromise. It is the ultimate celestial flex, proving that if you consume enough gas, you can alter the fundamental dynamics of an entire solar system. Astronomy is basically just a study of gravitationally induced bullying
