Stockhausen's opera cycle lasts twenty-nine hours
Karlheinz Stockhausen apparently thought normal operas were far too brief, so he composed 'Licht,' a mammoth cycle of seven operas that takes a combined twenty-nine hours to perform. It is so logistically absurd and insanely difficult to stage that the full cycle has rarely been attempted in its entirety, because nobody has that kind of attention span.
